We allow this to happen to us up to a certain point of comfort and that point is different for everyone, That is the point of time when you realize:

- You have been wearing baggier clothes
- You dread dressing up cause you have nothing to wear or nothing fits you well
- You can’t keep up with your kids or your grandkids
- Your moodiness is taking a toll on your relationships
- Makeup can’t cover the breakouts anymore…
- Your sugar cravings are out of control
- You cant even go up a flight of stairs without being out of breath
… That is the point where you realize that something’s gotta give… Something has to change and you just can’t or rather you don’t want to go on living like this anymore; with the symptoms, the pain, the fatigue, the acne, the mood swings, the frustration of trying to buy only clothes that hide your fat arms, legs or butt!
You are not alone! More than 60% of Americans are overweight and many struggle with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, digestive issues that are embarrassing, mood swings, and emotional eating to list a few.
I know your frustration! I have personally experienced so many of these symptoms and hear them every day from my clients.
I know at times you might feel defeated and hopeless but I am here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be this way! So don’t give up hope!
I can understand why you might be skeptical as I was to, until I discovered the secret to safely boosting my energy and eliminating 99% of my symptoms. My health and life has been so drastically transformed, I have made it my mission to spread the truth about what is keeping you overweight, tired, moody and a slave to sugar!
My journey and how I transformed my health
Up until a few years ago I suffered from hypoglycemia (severe sugar dips that left me weak and dizzy), severe PMS, headaches, weakness, acne, caffeine addiction, fatigue, exhaustion and irritability. I would get sick 3-4 times a year and was always moody, emotional, cranky and of course, stressed. My cholesterol was a whopping 248. So here I was rolling not so gracefully into my early thirties and instead of feeling young, sexy and vibrant I was feeling sick, tired, moody with an “old man’s cholesterol”!
Now keep in mind no real health concerns; at least nothing Tylenol and caffeine couldn’t remedy.
What was I doing wrong? I thought since I was so thin and I never worried about losing weight, I can eat anything I want … and I sure did. Not that it was that terrible. I mean I was kind of following the American-infused Mediterranean diet after all, how bad could that be, right?
In the morning, I would have coffee and skip breakfast cause who really has time for that?
In mid-morning, munch on snacks and cookies (always had the bit size snickers bars in my purse to save me from what I thought at the time sudden and inexplicable sugar fluctuations);
Lunch I would have a sandwich, chips and a Coke from the cafeteria, followed by more coffee or Coke and more candy or chips from the vending machine. ( Yeah, I know.. you always thought that skinny people don't eat or are full of willpower... Well think again!.. because I was NOT one of them...)
Then the evening would come around and by the time I got home from work, I would either swing by McDonalds or Subway, or order pizza and Chinese. The days that I would cook, I would have tuna noodle casserole, or meatloaf with white rice and corn or peas, frozen TV dinner meals, tuna and lunchmeat sandwiches and spaghetti amongst other dishes.
I loved chips and dips, Oreo cookies and chocolate, but I was never really a fan of a ton of sweets, desserts and really rich pies… just little bites here and there. Some days I would have a banana or an apple, a salad with dinner and of course I KNEW there were veggies in the Lo Mein and in my Cold Cut Trio sub!
Overall, I took small portions of food, mostly grazing throughout the day in between my small lunches and dinners. Not that bad right?
You can certainly understand my confusion and frustration with my cholesterol and all the rest of the symptoms, which I always assumed deep down inside that are symptoms of obesity.
My Breaking Point
I remember distinctly leaving my doctor’s office upset and frustrated. That was MY breaking point. That was the pointing time where I knew in my heart, something had to change. Enough was enough.. I knew things didn’t feel right and more and more symptoms were pilling up, regardless if my weight didn’t seem to fluctuate much.
So I embarked into a journey of health, investing into myself and into a brighter, better, healthier me. I spent much of my time getting educated (and havent's stopped yet) and started drinking more water, quit coffee and pop (that was my first step), cooking more at home, exercising and practicing yoga, going to bed at an earlier time, and cleaning my diet one small step at a time. I stumbled and fell many times during the holidays, parties and sometimes it seems like every other weekend but I picked myself up every time and kept going.
Two years ago, when I went back for my blood test, my LDL (bad cholesterol) was down to 112 from 164 and on the next visit it was down to 97! My HDL, (good cholesterol) is at a gorgeous 85 (yeahy)! And what is most fantastic? I am full of energy, I don’t get sick anymore, my skin has cleared, my PMS, headaches and joint pains are gone and I feel younger, stronger and more confident than ever!
Say Goodbye to diets and Hello to Life!
During my entire journey, one thing was very clear to me. That diet’s don’t work!
Diets don’t work because they are extreme solutions that backfire. They might work for a short period of time, but research has shown that most extreme dieters end up gaining back all their lost weight and then some. They focus on the quick fix and every time you “start and stop dieting” you end up damaging your metabolism and it gets harder and harder to lose the weight.
Diets don’t work because they are too restrictive making them impossible to sustain. They require an immense amount of willpower and discipline and sooner or later people fall off the wagon, gain the weight back and end up depressed and broken because they feel they have failed yet again.
Diets don’t work because they don’t address our bio-individual needs.
Each one of us is unique, with different needs based on gender, age, ancestry and lifestyle. Following the same diet with everyone else and expecting it to work it is almost like assuming that we will all wear the same pair of jeans and expecting them to fit! It is ridiculous!
Diets don’t work because they don’t address the underlying causes of weight gain or of our health issues and they don’t teach you how to nourish your body.
See, weight gain, just like a headache, acne or PMS, is not the problem! These symptoms develop, because there is an underlying imbalance in our diet, our body and our lifestyle. I always teach my clients to recognize that, this is the way our body communicates with us and lets us know that things are just not working right. It's up to us to slow down, listen and do something about it or just continue ignoring it.
Counting calories or points, following a generic meal plan, or dampening the symptoms with Tylenol, will not necessarily resolve these issues.
Understanding what is causing the imbalance and bringing the body back into balance, will.
Most people are disconnected from why they gain weight and are also disconnected from making conscious lifestyle choices. Weight loss incorporates balancing and restoring our health on many levels.
